Blessings Still Abound

My husband and I spent a week recently driving northeast to meet family members for a camping trip to New England sites. Our final destination was a remote campground (with full hookups!) in New Hampshire. Once we were set up, I plopped myself down in my camp chair and paused to take in my surroundings. The ground was covered with a soft pine straw and a gentle breeze moved the tall trees around me, giving off a slightly sweet fragrance. It was absolutely quiet until a bird cawed somewhere in the distance. I became totally relaxed in the beauty and privacy of God’s creation.

In this season of troubles, from illness to fires, storms, and turmoil, I realized that if I look carefully, I can experience the blessings of my Heavenly Father. They are still there, every day – “Thank you, Lord.”
