Those traditions are important, but don’t forget to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas. Regardless of the actual date of His birth, Christmas is about Jesus being born in a humble stable. He is Emmanuel – God with us. I just saw a statement that sums up this event so well: “Thousands of times in history a baby has become a king; but only once has a King become a baby.”
